Formed in 2014, KL Tigers Rugby Football Club has more than 600 players and volunteers from more than 20 countries between the ages of 5 and 65+. Our goal is to introduce rugby union and touch rugby to our community and support a thriving rugby culture in Malaysia. The KL Tigers’ Men’s team regularly takes part in the Selangor KRS League and we are proud of our Men's team for winning the KRS double (league and cup) in 2024. Our players have played for teams in the Agong Cup and several are representing state teams in the 2024 tournament. Five Men’s players have proudly won Malaysia caps.

We run a school outreach programme with national and international schools in the Klang Valley covering an introduction to rugby, regular coaching sessions, fitness programmes, rugby clinics and special academy bursaries. They include:

As a global partner of Leicester Tigers, one of Britain’s top rugby premiership clubs, KL Tigers is highly experienced in grassroots rugby development running a training programme based on the Leicester Tiger England Rugby Academy format. We are registered with the Sports Commissioner of Malaysia as a playing members’ club.

We have a rugby development team consisting of 5 professional coaches of whom 3 are World Rugby Educators and Level 3 certified; one is also a Level 2 referee for the Selangor League. They are supported by 43 volunteer coaches, many of whom are parents of players. Of these, 34 are Level 1 certified with a further 9 certified for Level 2 coaching by World Rugby, the sport's international governing body. All our coaches work with our head of rugby development.

We are always welcoming new members and volunteers to help with club operations and players of all abilities, so if you would like to get involved or give the game a try please contact us or come down to one of our training sessions.
