Develop fundamental skills, such as passing, running & teamwork.

Training

Saturday 8:00 - 9:30 am

Alice Smith School (Equine Park)

Under 9

This is the first year of contact rugby. As a significant challenge for players (and coaches), we introduce the elements of tackling and being tackled piece-by-piece so the players can adapt and grow at their own pace.

Skills

Learn tackling skills while continuing to develop the fundamentals.

Training

Saturday 8:00 - 9:30 am

Alice Smith School (Equine Park)

Under 10

After one year of tackling, the players are now moving onto rucks and possibly mauling. A ruck is where a player from each competes for the ball which is on the ground after a tackle, but cannot put their hands on the ball. For U11s, it is also where they get an introduction to kicking.

Skills

Learn rucking and kicking and continue to develop previously learned skills.

Training

Saturday 8:00 - 9:30 am

Alice Smith School (Equine Park)

Under 11 - 13

Rugby for these age groups will start to look like the full game. More players will be involved at scrums and rucks. Players will also start to find their positions. There will be a focus on set pieces and for U15s, lifting at lineouts!

Skills

Develop previously learned skills focusing on more technical abilities.

Training

Saturday 9:30 - 11:00 am
