Play Fun, Play Fair & Play Safe

Safety is our top priority. An ambulance with trained personnel is present throughout our main Saturday training session and at our tournaments. Moreover, our full-time coaches and many of our volunteer coaches are First Aid In Rugby (FAIR) qualified. Parents of players and adult players are requested to provide relevant medical history regarding any previous injuries upon registration to ensure the club is as best informed as possible.

From U9 and above we begin to introduce our young players to contact-based games and technical skill breakdowns within managed sessions. We strive for each player to develop awareness, understanding and decision-making on the field. Exercises such as tackle techniques, wrestling techniques and a player’s body shape at the breakdown are important skills that introduce and prepare young players for contact during games and in training.

Discipline is one of rugby’s core values. Rugby’s intensely physical characteristics mean that there are firm boundaries within which players must operate to ensure that players’ and supporters’ conduct during a game and in social situations is as safe and fair as possible. Discipline is therefore important off the pitch as well as during a game. The way KL Tigers RFC supports and enforces it is described in the following policy.
